What is a Steward?
Stewards represent employees in the
grievance procedure. In addition, there are several other ways stewards
represent Lane County workers including:

In informal problem-solving
efforts and discussions with management.

In interactions with local officers, giving voice to
employee views and concerns.

On the flip side, the steward represents local
leaders when he/she passes on to members union-related information and
objectives.
If you are experiencing a workplace
problem or have a concern, you can contact any Steward or the Chief
Stewards. If you are interested in becoming a steward please contact the
Chief Steward or the Local President.
