This session will address leadership style for building an inclusive space for enhancing critical thought and reimagining unionists’ racial and gender solidarity in the 21-century labor movement with a group exercise.

David Alexander has been a labor educator for over 35 years. He has held teaching positions with the George Meany Center for Labor Studies, the AFL-CIO’s staff and leadership training center, as well as programs at Rutgers University and Cornell University. For the past fifteen years, he has been working with the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department in the design and coordination of courses in their Building Trades Academy curriculum.  Currently, he is adjunct professor at the University of Oregon’s LERC and Michigan State University’s School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.  Sign-up here
